Cue the famous Mariah Carey song “All I Want for Christmas” — because we’re officially into the first week of November! Can you tell I’m excited?

In case you said no… I am. Very.

And to show it, I’m sharing one of my favorite gift guides in this series. This one’s for the ones who find their rhythm in the turns, who can tell a story with the scars on their shins, and who could talk about their favorite trail, race, or route for hours.

I’ve been biking for as long as I can remember. First looping around the neighborhood, then pedaling to friends’ houses along the Anchorage Coastal Trail, and eventually finding my way onto singletrack after getting my first mountain bike. Bikes have always meant one thing to me: FREEDOM. There’s a feeling you get from being on two wheels that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. That mix of movement, flow, and adventure is priceless if you ask me. And the gear you ride with? It can make that experience even better.

Whether you’re shopping for a seasoned mountain biker, a gravel grinder, a roadie, or the adventure-curious friend who’s just discovering the joy of riding, this list is packed with gifts that perform on the trail, the road, at home, and everywhere in between.

And I’ll be honest — narrowing this list down was super hard. There’s just so much good bike gear out there. So I chose pieces that I personally reach for, use, and love every. single. day. While it’s not everything, it’s a well-rounded mix that fits a range of riders and budgets.

If you’re looking for more of a family-focused bike gift guide, last year’s version is still very valid — and still filled with plenty of two-wheeled favorites.

USWE MTB Hydro 3L Hydration Pack

If you’ve ever bounced down a rocky descent with a pack that felt like it had a mind of its own, you’ll understand why USWE packs are magic. Their No Dancing Monkey harness design keeps the pack perfectly still — even when the trail isn’t. The MTB Hydro 3L is the perfect size for all-day rides where I’m going ultra light: big enough for tools, snacks, and a layer, without ever feeling bulky. It’s become my go-to for all of my all day training rides and even some mountain bike only races where I need to have fast access to water on me. If you need more or less storage, take a gander at the USWE site, they have everything from 2L to 12 L in the mtn bike hydration realm, and even more if you are looking for a hybrid style of pack that can do it all. Again, the real champion feature is the NO Dancing Monkey harness, which all of their packs have!

USWE Grepp MTB Glove

For the rider who values fit, grip and ventilation the Grepp (Swedish for “grip”) glove delivers exactly that and then some. A perforated palm gives next-level traction and breathability, while the snug cuff and touch-screen compatibility make them as practical as they are tough. I am VERY picky when it comes to mountain bike gloves. They can’t have too much cushion and they need to fit my hand just right. These hug my hands in all the perfect ways and still make it so I can have total control of my bike on gnarly descents and have comfort for hours and hours of riding. After MANY months of testing different pairs of gloves, these are it for me!

Mission Workshop Saddle Bag

A small but mighty piece of gear that instantly earns its keep. The Mission Saddle Bag is waterproof, low-profile, and built to last, made from Dimension Polyant VX fabric with Hypalon straps that don’t budge. It’s just the right size for a tube, CO₂, multitool, and a even an emergency snack — basically all the essentials you really need. For the biker in your life who loves a clean light weight and durable setup -this is perfection.

Muc-Off AirMach Electric Mini Inflator Pro

I don’t know about you, but I’ve spent more than enough time with hand pumps on the side of the trail. Don’t get me wrong, I still do rely on them when I’m adventure racing (I love this one by Muc off for those times) but when I’m on my weekly training rides, I carry the the Muc-Off AirMach. It’s a compact, rechargeable electric inflator that makes topping off tires effortless. It’s sleek, fast, and surprisingly powerful for its size. It’s one of those “why didn’t I have this sooner?” gadgets that quickly becomes indispensable. I see this being a perfect gift for that biker of yours who has everything already.

Infinity A1X Bike Seat (Adventure Series)

Long rides are only fun when your seat doesn’t make you dread the next one. The AX1 Infinity Seat looks a little unconventional, but it’s been a game-changer for many endurance riders. Designed to relieve pressure and increase blood flow, it keeps you comfortable for the long haul — whether that’s a multi-day bikepacking trip, a long expedition race or just a few miles on your favorite trail. Comfort may not sound glamorous, but this is a gift that’ll get miles of gratitude. And wouldn’t that be amazing to have someone think of you every time they take a seat? I think so anyway. Do warn the receiver though that they will be saying good bye to their favorite Chamois bike shorts, as this bike requires no padding. The less fabric down there the better for these seats! Use BendRacing to get 10% off when you check out and get ready for a very happy tush.

Industry Nine Hydra2 Trail Carbon Wheelset

Now we’re in dream gift territory. Industry Nine’s wheels are known for their precision, durability, and that addictive buzz of engagement that every rider secretly loves. The Hydra2 Trail Carbon Wheelset is light, strong, and responsive — a serious upgrade for any bike. Make it custom with bling spokes and now that gift screams “I really, really, really love you.” My partner gifted me a set of rainbow ones, and they make me so happy, even after 24 hours of non stop riding. At $2,395 I realize this is a SERIOUS purchase, but hey, we can dream right? And it does help that they have a 2 year Warranty and the customer support is top notch.

Wahoo Kickr Shift + Wahoo App

And now we’ve really taken it up a few extra notches — at least for the rider who never stops, even when the weather says otherwise. The Wahoo KICKR SHIFT smart trainer brings the road inside with realistic resistance, smooth shifting, and full integration with the Wahoo App for structured workouts or virtual rides. It’s the ultimate winter training setup that actually makes indoor rides feel (almost) fun.

I upgraded my whole setup to this last year and haven’t looked back. For a couple of years, I trained on my road bike paired with a Wahoo KICKR Core trainer, which was great — except it still needed regular maintenance and was loud. Early morning rides before the boys woke up were out of the question.

Now that we’re in full-on homeschool mode, I live for those quiet early morning sessions. The KICKR SHIFT is almost silent, requires virtually no maintenance, and fits me perfectly. As a smaller rider, that’s huge — not all trainers adjust well, but this one’s highly customizable with a five-point adjustment system. In theory, even Jason and I could share it by taking just a few minutes to tweak the setup between us.

There’s also a PRO version that takes the experience up another level, with built-in grade simulation, integrated Zwift controls, and a few extra tech features that mimic a true outdoor ride. It comes with a higher price tag ($3,999 vs. $2,549), but if you’re a big Zwift user or crave that “real bike” feel indoors, it might be worth the upgrade. Ultimately, it comes down to what fits your riding style — both are amazing, and both will get you spinning happily through winter.

For a more indepth review check out this one from last year where I go into depth on the difference between the Zwift bike and the Wahoo bike.

MAAP Women’s Flow Vest

Lightweight, packable and built for shifting conditions — this vest from MAAP is exactly the kind of “layering upgrade” that makes a real difference when the wind picks up or you’re charging down a descent with the sun dropping behind you. The material is wind-proof where it needs to be, with laser-cut ventilation panels and low-profile hem and armholes so you don’t feel bulky when you’re pedaling hard. I chose this one to share specifically for this time of year, because as soon as October hits, I find myself starting every ride and adventure with this on. It’s the only vest that I’ve found that actually stays put, packs down small and doesn’t make me too hot or too cold. I see this one being another great gift for that someone in your life who already has the “essentials” but could really benefit from a high quality layering piece that actually fits their outdoor rhythym. It is also worth noting that this is $150. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? I think so.

Rogue Panda Ripsey Seat Bag

For longer rides and multi-day adventures, this one’s a total game-changer. I use it on all of my bikepacking trips and every single expedition race. It’s lightweight, stable, and keeps the weight off your back -which, after hours (or days) in the saddle, makes a huge difference. The Ripsey design hugs your seatpost and stays put even over rough terrain, meaning no sway or annoying rub on your legs. The best thing about it is that it fits on bikes with droppers and on smaller frames like mine. For the longest time I thought I was forever slated for always having to carry weight on my back. Once this came out, I was the happiest racer/ bike packer/ bike mama ever. Note, you don’t have to be small to use it, if you are tall, it’s probably even better for you because it sits higher under your seat!

The actual size of the bag is perfect for multi-day gear or a long weekend ride setup. During races I put all of my mando gear in their (rain jacket/bivy/ rain pants/extra layer/ buff/ first aide kid) and during bikepacking it fits all my easy to pack down gear (clothes or even an emergency burrito for mile 70). I love that it keeps my hydration pack lighter and my back happier, especially when I’m out there for 10+ hours at a time. It’s one of those “buy it once, use it forever” pieces that earns a spot on every long adventure.

4HourFuel

For long training rides or those big adventure missions, 4HourFuel is one of my secret weapons. It’s designed to keep you going steady without the sugar spikes or gut bombs that so many endurance fuels cause. I love that it’s simple, clean, and actually tastes good — more like something you want to drink than something you have to. It also has no flavor fatigue for me, even in a 6 day race, I still reach for it on the last hour thanks to their naked flavor which is super mild and goes down easy. I call it my “go juice” as after a sip, I literally can feel it fueling me up. Whether I’m heading out for a 3-5-hour mountain ride or an expedition race stage, this is what keeps my energy consistent and my stomach happy. While all of the flavors are my favorite, recently I’ve been on a big Horchata and banana chocolate stage. And word on the street is that a “Latte” flavor is coming out for winter which is amazing for the those long backcountry or xc ski missions!

Gnarly Whey Protein

Because recovery matters just as much as the ride itself. After (and before) big days in the saddle, your muscles are begging for love and that’s where Gnarly Whey comes in. It’s my go-to post-ride treat, loaded with clean protein to rebuild what you just took down. My personal favorite that hits both my comfort food craving and my nutrition needs is to combine Puffins cereal (feel free to switch out to your favorite + chocolate Gnarly Whey protein. It’s so yummy!

I love that Gnarly Whey is made from grass-fed whey with no artificial junk, just simple, effective ingredients that work. I’ll mix it up with water or milk right after long efforts, or blend it into a smoothie with banana and nut butter for a more substantial recovery meal. The vanilla flavor tastes amazing (not chalky like some), and it’s become part of my everyday routine.

If you’re gifting for someone who’s training hard or just loves to ride often, a tub of Gnarly Whey (or a subscription) is one of those thoughtful, functional gifts that actually gets used and appreciated every single day/week.

Tiibo Bottles

Time for your rider to ditch those old plastic bottles? Or are they always complaining about warm water in the summer? Level up their riding experience with tiibo bottles. They are designed by cyclists, for cyclists (that’s when you know it’s good). These lightweight, vacuum-insulated stainless steel bottles kept my drink perfectly warm on my last cold riding day and i’m looking forward to having it be ice cold this summer! Sleek, extremely durable, and available in multiple colors and sizes, they’re functional, stylish, and built to last. This is another perfect gift for that someone who has it all because every rider needs nice bottles!

So… where are the bikes?

You might be wondering why I haven’t listed any actual bikes here. That’s intentional. Bikes are incredibly personal — fit, feel, and style matter so much, and most riders have strong brand loyalties for good reason. There are countless amazing bikes out there, each one perfect for someone different.

As for me, I’ve been riding Ellsworth bikes for over 15 years, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon. The frame geometry, suspension design, and overall ride feel of the Ellsworth Truth are unlike anything else I’ve ever tried. I love it so much that we actually became part owners of the brand and are working to help restore it to its roots.

So, if you’re curious or want to learn more — get in touch. There’s a good chance I’ll still be out there pedaling an Ellsworth when I’m 80.

The Gift of a Ride

Because sometimes the best gift as you know isn’t something you can wrap, it’s time. So whether this inspires you to actually purchase one of these items or not, even better would be to plan a day to ride together. Pick a new trail, or map out a mini bikepacking overnight date. Bring snacks, smiles and maybe even a few wrong turns. Those are the rides that become stories and memories that remind us why we fell in love with bikes in the first place.
